Well hey, you just found us - we're the
Haliburton Highlands Writers' and Editors' Network
Welcome to the Highlands!
Okay, so maybe we don’t all live in the woods, and maybe some of us don’t even live in Haliburton. But as writers – professional or novice – we do share in one belief: Writing is much more fun when you don’t try to go it alone. As communicators, we realize that we must maintain contact with the rest of the world. As artists – professional or otherwise – we must continue to grow and mature. Ours is a time-honoured skill and profession; a craft handed down through the ages – from mentor to student, from one skilled hand to the next.
Our Mission Statement says it all:
The Haliburton Highlands Writers’ and Editors’ Network is a non-profit, umbrella organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting the art and skill of writing, fostering literacy, and providing moral support to writers and editors through education and networking, both independently and in cooperation with existing organizations.
We welcome anyone to join us – even if you don’t consider yourself a writer or live in Haliburton. Our membership rates are as modest as we are, and we continue to work on our Benefits of Membership.
