Shirley is a published writer, speaker and storyteller. Her articles, short stories, humour pieces and devotionals have been published in periodicals, anthologies and websites. Since 2004, she has been a regular columnist for FellowScript (InScribe Christian Writers’ Fellowship).

She has been a guest speaker as “Aunt Shirley” at retirement and nursing homes, ladies’ retreats, women’s ministries, seniors' ministries, mentally challenged adult groups, children’s ministries, and churches in Ontario and Mexico.

Shirley resides in a peaceful farming village in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, Canada, where the landscape is dotted with cottages and abandoned century-old churches.
